Your Piano
Islington Pianos
We know all about pianos, so you don’t have to.
🎹 Helping you get the very best from your piano.
Whether your child is just starting piano lessons, you're returning to playing after years away, or you're an experienced pianist, one thing matters — having a piano that's enjoyable to play and sounds its best.
Because a well-maintained piano makes all the difference.
When you're investing in piano lessons, you want your child to enjoy practising, develop their confidence and stay motivated. An out-of-tune or poorly maintained piano can make learning frustrating, even for the most enthusiastic young musician.
That's where Islington Pianos can help.
Your local piano experts
Founded by Steve Droy RPT, who has been tuning and repairing pianos across North London for over 30 years, Islington Pianos is a small, friendly team of professionally trained piano technicians.
We share a love of music and a passion for helping people enjoy their pianos, whether that's a much-loved family upright, a beginner's first instrument or a concert grand.
And you don't need to know anything about pianos to ask us for advice!
Experience you can trust
Steve is a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) with the Piano Technicians Guild and has trained at Steinway in Hamburg.
He is also the founder of the Piano Technology School, one of the UK's leading specialist piano technician training providers, and was previously Senior Lecturer in Piano Technology on the Musical Instrument Crafts degree course at Lincoln College.
Every member of the Islington Pianos team has been personally trained by Steve, so you can be confident your piano is in knowledgeable hands.
Every piano deserves to play its best
We believe you should enjoy playing your piano — even if it isn't the world's best piano!
From regular tuning and maintenance to practical advice on repairs or choosing your first instrument, we're here to help you make informed decisions without unnecessary expense.

Piano Tuning
Qualified Professional Tuners
Pianos need to be tuned at least once a year to maintain their internal tension and to keep them in good working order.
We offer a full range of tuning services. Have a question or need to get your piano tuned then we are happy to help.
Piano Repair
Professional Service
Our technicians can carry out many running repairs that can be easily fixed without needing to remove the Piano or take the action away.
Discuss your sticky notes or squeaky pedal with us and we can arrange an appointment to suit you.
Piano Regulation, Servicing, & Restoration
Over 30 Years Experience
Pianos benefit from having a service every few years. Instruments might need some TLC to get the lifeless strings working again.
We give you an honest appraisal and if we feel restoration is a viable option you can be sure we will get your instrument to it's best.
